Artastic challenge - KEEP OUT

Hi Ladies!

This month at ARTastic is a fabulous challenge and a calloboration with C.S.I - Colors Stories Inspiration

Here is the inspirational Australian Government Vintage Poster c1930

and the criteria is to use Striped pattern paper

I decided to do a canvas and use the deck chair as my inspiration from the poster, and covered the criteria by painting the stripes on the deck chair canvas.

KEEP OUT

I painted the background using Jo Sonja's paints, the sand is painted in skin tone the sea is a mixture of blues and the sky was painted in greys using a technique called stippling.

The fence is made of icy pole sticks, cut down and made to look old and weathered painted and then using Decor Crackle. I added a seagull to the top of the fence.

The keep out sign is also made from icy pole sticks and stained with light oak wood stain.

The deck chairs are cut out and I painted over the wooden frame and the striped canvas. I also added the spade, bucket and boat and painted over these aswell.

The hat and glass are layered to give a dimensional look.

Lastly I added grass using a black pigment pen and a wash of different greens.

Here are some close up...

Since we were heading into the garden I added a garden glove and a little sign as my title.

The terrarium pics each have a frame around them, I cut one frame down to fit!

Here is a close up......

Here is a link to 'Country Living' with a step by step tuturial on how to build your own greenhouse or terrarium by recycling old wooden picture FRAMES

Lessology #36 - WINDOW DISPLAY

Hi Ladies!

I thought this would be a great opportunity to showcase a stained glass door booklet, I made during a workshop at 'Scrappe Tiger Retreat' in May 2013. This is the first time I have posted any images. I love this book as you could give it as a gift for a wedding, Christening, or even a house warming (you could get all the guests to sign inside) or add photos of your event inside and have it as an album.

What better way to showcase my stained glass door than as an entry for Lessology.

You can get to LESSology here!

This month we want to see your best "window display" projects for LESSology Challenge #36: Window display! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a project that has a window. :)

Remember, you can create any project you like as long as it includes at least ONE upcycled item. Please mention what this item is as it may not be apparent in your post.

and

and

It's hard to imagine that this project is made out of just paper and chipboard...with lots of crackle texture.

The up-cycled item is the antique doorknob from a thrift shop!

Thanks for looking!
