My NEW art and craft classes!!

Connecting with Creativity

I have had a passion to teach art and craft to all ages for a long time. I often make things to give away and I’m told ‘Ooh I wish I could make that’ or ‘Can you make me one’…..so I started thinking about teaching other ladies to make some really lovely cards and gifts.

I find art and craft relaxing and I love that it is only one of a few hobbies where you can make handmade items and give them away to your family and friends.

So ‘Shazza’s Limited Edition’ Classes was formed.

Why Limited Edition you say?…..

Spots are limited for each class so once a class is filled, I may not have that exact class again, as products and embellishments are changing all the time.

So, a similar class may be offered in the future but no two are ever exactly the same.

I also wanted to have classes that are affordable to all, as most classes charged at shops are priced outrageously. J

So, come on an amazing artistic journey in all sorts of creative mediums. You’ll discover a whole new world of creativity.

About our classes
* Class sizes are indicated in each description.
* Students are accepted on a first-paid basis.  Due to purchasing supplies for students kits in time for class, there are no exceptions to this policy.
* Some classes have all supplies included. Other classes will include a supply list of items you'll need to bring to each class.
* Please make me aware of any allergies you might have.
* Tea, coffee, biscuits/cake, etc… are provided during class.
Cancellation Policy
*   If you cancel class due to health/weather etc….. All monies will be transferred to the next available class. If that particular class is not offered again, then monies are to be used for another class/s of equal value.

True Blood Tribune

Here is my entry for Jami's theme challenge at Soul Scrappers. You can get to Soul Scrappers from here

Jami's theme - Making News!!!

Your challenge is to create any page dealing with new story you would like to scrap about!

The Journaling says.....
Strange celebrity news is the theme of the week it seems! The latest news from the cast of True Blood comes from the fabulously naughty mouth of Ms. Anna Paquin who plays the beloved waitress telepath Sookie Stackhouse in the True Blood HBO series.
Word on the street was that Anna Paquin had informed fans that the sex scenes between herself and her real-life partner (Stephen Moyer) who plays her undead partner Bill Compton on this series were the real deal.
Now we knew that the stars were committed to their character portrayal…but let’s just put it this way…if all of the sex scenes in True Blood are the real deal then these actors would all be bonafide porn stars!
So are Anna and Stephen getting it on during filming? And what does Ms. Paquin plan on doing for her other supernatural love scenes? Will she and Alex sacrifice fidelity for art’s sake?
TRUTH ALERT: Anna and Stephen have had their words twisted a bit by members of the media who want to sell, sell, sell, their crappy magazines. What the stars really said is simply that shooting sex scenes felt natural to them as they are very close (engaged) in real life.
So that ends that rumor! The True Blood cast are not having sex with each other on film. They are also not really vampires and telepaths. Shoot! The guy who plays Jason Stackhouse isn’t even a dumb redneck!
Come on ya’ll! You know that Sookie Stackhouse is a good little Southern Gal who would never let someone film her in her unmentionables! Ya’ll should be ashamed! What would Gran think??!

Girls just want to have fun

Hey Ladies!

This is my inspirational piece for my Song/Lyric challenge at Soul Scappers this month. You can get to Soul Scrappers from here.

Now!! let me introduce you to

Cyndi Lauper

Cynthia Ann Stephanie "Cyndi" Lauper (born June 22, 1953) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She achieved success in the mid-1980s with the release of the album She's So Unusual and became the first female singer to have four top-five singles released from one album. Lauper has released 11 albums and over 40 singles, and as of 2008 had sold more than 30 million records worldwide.

Here are the Lyrics to.........

You must use a word....OR a couple of words...OR a sentence OR even the song title on your page. This is a free scrap so any theme goes :)

'GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN'
CYNDI LAUPER
(Robert Hazard)
I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun
The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells what you gonna do with your life
Oh daddy dear you know you're still number one
But girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have
That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls - they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun
Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have
That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls - they want to have fun
Oh Girls just want to have fun,
They want to have fun,
They want to have fun......

Would love to join in! You have until the 2nd August to upload your entry to the Gallery!

All About Jenna

Hi Ladies!
This is an entry from my daughter Jenna for the FS2S challenge for July. I asked her if she would like to submit an entry as we only had two entries at that time. Jenna has probably only scrapped a few pages ever, so I think she did a great job for being a relative newbie to scrapbooking. She doesn't have a blog so I am showcasing it here for her :)

All About Jenna

The words read - Friendly, Sexy (lol), Funny and Lazy
I love how she put 'Lazy' in the bottom heart (so True!!) hehehe

I'm sure she would love to get some nice comments :)

Technique challenge at Soul Scrappers

Here is my entry for Gwens Technique challenge at Soul Scrappers. You can get to Soul Scrappers from here.

This Months Technique challenge
is to use fabric on your page(s).

NOT just ribbon, but a strip of fabric, several die cuts, cover your cardstock back with fabric, create a fabric book. Just do Something MORE than add a fabric flower or one strip of fabric please!   (sorry ribbon won't count as your fabric)

I did two pages, one each for Kimba and Astro

KIMBA
I just loved this challenge!!

I wanted to use fabric in a different way, so I thought of making a character out of fabric.....

I cut out a cat shape from a swirly beige/brown fabric and fused a cat face to the front using blanket stitch and used a brown pigment pen for the face details.

This is Kimba our Snow Bengal looking at his family portraits .... lol

The journaling says....Kimba's fathers name is Bengadale Jungle Spots' and Kimba's mothers anme is Sandikin Nadira. Being dainty and delicate himself, kimba is very much like his mother. Also, as part of Kimba's 'snowy' heritage includes some siamese hybrids. Kimba has inherited their love of talking and will chat and meow reminders all day!
and

ASTRO

I just loved this challenge!!

I wanted to use fabric in a different way, so I thought of making a character out of fabric.....

I cut out a cat shape from a grey scrap of fabric and fused a cat face to the front using blanket stitch and used a brown pigment pen for the face details.

This is Astro our British Blue looking at his family portraits on the wall.... lol

The journaling says....Astro's fathers name is 'Sunsilk Astro' and his mothers name is 'Hayley'. Astro has his fathers robust body, but has maintained the daintier facial features of his mum - making him a strong and handsome fellow :)

Theme challenge at Soul Scrappers

This is my entry for Deb Horsts  Theme challenge at Soul Scrappers. You can get to Soul Scrappers from here. You had to do a page that shows enjoyment of the outdoors.

Happy Campers

The photos are from 1989, my mum and dad took my son Adam away camping to their favourite fishing spot 'The Mitta Mitta'. My brother Craig and his squeeze Linda came along too.

The tent idea came from the 'One Sunny day' Front porch kit...a double layout from  from Tracy Pounds.

I made the tent by using a Maya Road canvas triangle banner. I carefully cut open the seam at the top of the banner to create a pocket. Next, I cut a slit straight up the centre, rolled the edges back to create tent flaps. I used some tacky glue to hold the tent flaps down. I then used distress ink 'Vintage photo' to edge and smudge the tent so it looked weathered. I popped some yellow spotty pp inside and added a trimmed photo of my mum and my son Adam at the front of the tent showing off their catch of the day!

I coloured the alpha letters in light brown and then used some mesh to cover the letters and applied distress ink 'vintage photo' to add a textured look!

Oh I aslo edged the sun and rays in the same ink.........

A close up of the tent

What a hoot this challenge was and what Great FREE STUFF (Yes, you heard me right!!) FREE STUFF to play with. Here is my entry....

and

and

Here is my entry for Karens 'Fantastic' Nautical challenge.

Sorry this is the best photo out of about 30 I took, its very hard to shut out the glare from the bottle!!!!

I chose to interpret the challenge by using a plastic lemonade/soda bottle and adding all my elements into the bottle. I got the idea from the SSQ#8 advert with the bottle on the beach. The pic is Jarred (my son) and I, when I went to visit him on Hamilton Island where he was working in 2008. The photo is taken down at the Marina with all the fancy million dollar yachts and boats.....

What I did with this challenge......

I used the quote...
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.
~John Masefield
I chose this quote as it mentioned tall ships, stars and wheels ( the cogs) It is located at the top of the bottle.

The element from my personal stash were the sea shells.

Tag with ship - I cut this from the tag and used the twine as rigging on the ship.
2 stamped images - The world ( I added to the wood cut out and placed in the bottom of the bottle with North, South, East and West indicators) ....the Anchor (I cut out and stuck the twine over the rope image)
The star is stuck near the bottle neck.
Twine(Rigging and rope as mentioned)
Sprockets - one is added to the journaling tag the other is under the anchor.
Brad is used to attach the journaling tag.
Woodcut out has world map stuck to it in the bottom of the bottle.
Dsp's - one has been used to form waves around the tall ship the other was used to cover the glueing of the bottle back together , around the outside bottom and around the neck and also as a cirlce on the top of the cork (hard to see)

Enjoyed this challenge Karen but must admit there were a few 'swears' as I tried to put this plastic bottle back together...thank heavens for Helmar 450 glue ( the only glue I use and its quick dry!!!)

Cheers
