Pixels and Paper Guest Designer for November

Hi Ladies!

I'm so excited to be the guest DT for Pixels and Paper challenge blog this month

Here is the image for your inspiration

and here is my interpretation.....

'Favourite Toys'

I took my inspiration from the old toys, so I dusted off Gerry Gee, Panda and Sister Belle and had a photo taken together :)
gold somewhere = arrows
3 patterned papers = strips
something you have had in your stash for more than a year  = red chipboard scalloped button
animal somehow = panda

bling = green sequins

Hi Shazza from Australia here. I have had a passion for crafting since I was a little girl. Papercrafts have always been my favorite.  I started card making and slowly progressed to scrapbooking. I find scrapbooking very therapeutic, its a great way to chill from the day to day grind of our busy lives. I want to leave my children with their own albums so they can have a lasting record of their and my life over time. I love finding old family photos from days gone by, these help in documenting my family history.  My latest passion is mixed media and I try to combine it on my background layouts. I love joining in challenges as they make think outside the square, and a lot of my pages have a quirkiness or whimsy feel to them. Thanks Jane and team for allowing me to Guest Design for Pixels and Paper this month. I loved the photo and added criteria and I hope I have done it justice. :)

You can find my blog at Shazza's Craft Connection =

You have until the end off the month to play along with us with our November challenge.  We'd love to see how you are inspired by our teddies and toys and the criteria from our combined challenge with Child's Play.

Artastic challenge - KEEP OUT

Hi Ladies!

This month at ARTastic is a fabulous challenge and a calloboration with C.S.I - Colors Stories Inspiration

Here is the inspirational Australian Government Vintage Poster c1930

and the criteria is to use Striped pattern paper

I decided to do a canvas and use the deck chair as my inspiration from the poster, and covered the criteria by painting the stripes on the deck chair canvas.

I painted the background using Jo Sonja's paints, the sand is painted in skin tone the sea is a mixture of blues and the sky was painted in greys using a technique called stippling.

The fence is made of icy pole sticks, cut down and made to look old and weathered painted and then using Decor Crackle. I added a seagull to the top of the fence.

The keep out sign is also made from icy pole sticks and stained with light oak wood stain.

The deck chairs are cut out and I painted over the wooden frame and the striped canvas. I also added the spade, bucket and boat and painted over these aswell.

The hat and glass are layered to give a dimensional look.

Lastly I added grass using a black pigment pen and a wash of different greens.

Here are some close up...

Thanks for a great challenge this month Jane and DT's

Hi Ladies!

Here is my entry for Archi-scraps challenge this month :)

This time we are going out to the garden with this picture

Since we were heading into the garden I added a garden glove and a little sign as my title.

The red gumboots and yellow watering can were cut from thick cardboard, painted and then crystal effects was added. The mushroom was hand cut and decorated with mushroom spots!

The terrarium pics each have a frame around them, I cut one frame down to fit!

Here is a close up......
