Soul Scrappers - Lift Challenge

Hey Shazza back again!!

At Soul Scrappers the Lift challenge this month is awesome!

Here is the Lift by Danielle Kriven
and is
Hosted by Cheryl Lambert

You may take from the lift, collectables, large letter title/alphas, birthday theme,
arrows, have the date of your event showcased on your layout, multiple photos,
or anything else you wish to add.

I am still on the christmas kick! So I went with a Christmas themed page!

CHISTMAS OUTTAKES

I took multiple photos, large letter title, date and arrows from the original Lift!

I wanted to showcase some funny photos that I took over Christmas

The top one is my brother Craig (just being normal!! lol)
Left hand side, my son Jarred acting really surprised! Then Skyla making one of her many silly faces and the last one is my other son Adam at the Christmas party with a green plastic comb (from a bonbon!) hanging off his beard (weird...I know!!)...hard to see in the photo!

here are a few close ups

Thanks for a great LIFT challenge Cheryl.
I really enjoyed putting this one together!

Soul Scrappers- Random Word birthday challenge

Hey Friends!

Over at Soul Scrappers the Random Word challenge this month is to make a page relating to the theme 'BIRTHDAY' and to use one of the following words on your page!

Karen (Kaz) is hosting the challenge this month!

Welcome to the  Random Word Challenge
where each month we will have 6 words or
titles based off a common theme. All you have to do
is pick one & use it somewhere
on your project. It's that simple !

                                                           1. Birthday Bash
                                                           2. Magical
                                                           3. Milestone
                                                           4. Ageless
                                                           5. Young at Heart
                                                           6. Special

Here is my page. I used the word 'MAGICAL'

Skyla's MAGICAL Reindeer

Skyla painted her own reindeer decoration over the Christmas holidays.
She called her reindeer 'Princess' and gave her lots of
hugs and Kisses!!

I used a cut file for the Reindeer shape!
I was so lucky I received this from my Secret Santa at
Soul Scrappers and I just couldnt wait to use it!
I adhered it to the page by stitching a chain stitch around the antlers

This is the cut file before I started decorating it!

Some close ups of my page!

and

Thankyou for the inspiration  (Kaz) to put this page together for Skyla's album!

Cheers

Mystical Scrapbooks - 'SUMMER' Cyber Crop challenges!

Hey Friends!

Over at Mystical scrapbooks they have a 'Summer' cyber crop running for January. I havn't joined in a cyber crop for many years so I thought I would give this one a go.... I usually find them so exhausting as you have to be quick to get through all the challenges and sometimes I don't always do most best work as my brain is in overload!! lol

The first challenge...

...is a Moodboard

You take your inspiration from the images, colours or words etc....

I took my inspiration from the beach pic and also the blue aussie thongs!

Here is my interpretation called....

SUNNY DAY

The photo was taken right in front of our room in Play del Carmen in Mexico in 2006
The carribean sea is such a beautiful turquoise blue and so clear!
Here we (Hasan and I), watched someone parasailing, way, way out in the distance!
It was such a beautiful sunny day with hardly a cloud in th sky!

Here are a few close up!

 and

(Bugger! you can see my back screen door reflected in the photos...LOL)

I used watercolour paints  on the background and copied the lines of the different colours of blue in the photo. I also added a pair of thongs to the embellie cluster!

The second challenge...

...is a sketch challenge!

Here is my interpretation!
(...and yes! I'm still scrappin christmas!)

Some Thing MERRY

Catching up with friends for lunch just before christmas!
Look at us in our quaint christmas hats! lol

Here are a few close ups of the beautiful die cut flowers and poinsettias!

and

The third challenge is...

Ingredients Challenge

These are Minimum requirements.

1 x Piece of Lace
2 x Shapes
3 x Flowers
4 x Patterned Papers
5 x Buttons or Dots

Now this is what I would call a RED HOT MESS! Actually its a
 PINK HOT MONCHROMATIC MESS!

I just didnt know when to stop!!
I just kept adding and adding....

1 x Piece of Lace - left hand side photo
2 x Shapes - water droplit shapes
3 x Flowers - crochet and paper
4 x Patterned Papers - scattered as frames and bits tucked in here and there
5 x Buttons or Dots - enamel pink and grey dots

Mystical Scrapbooks - SAND box Shananigans AND Summer Sippin'

Hey Friends!

It's been a long long time since I joined in a challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks! I thought I would atleast start off the year and join in some other challenge sites!

During the month of January Mystical Scrapbooks have two 'Summer' themed challenges.

The first challenge is to scrap outside the colour box!

Instead of the bright colours of summer -  the blues, pinks yellow and oranges
to use more earthy tones - the browns, greens etc....

Here is my take on the challenge...

SAND box SHENANIGANS

Here is Skyla getting up to no good in her sand box!
Pretending to eat Sand! lol
I used browns, greys and light apricot colours!
I love the new 'Protea' die I just bought. I used the napkin technique and
then used my water colour paints to paint the leaves and flower head, the colours really match the layout!

Here are some close ups...

I added some thread for some added colour and texture

and

I machine stitched down the frames.

*************************************************

The second 'SUMMER' challenge...

The second challenge is to use the word 'Summer' and
to use multiple photos (two or more)

Here is my take on the challenge...

Summer SIPPIN'

I love using the bright colours of summer!
Here is Skyla drinking from the garden hose!!

and some close ups...

and

I love putting pages together from bits and bobs and
lots of left overs from collections!

Thanks Donna and the Mystical scrapping team!

I thoroughly enjoyed putting these pages together,
thanks to your challenge inspirastion!

Cheers
Shazza :)

Archiscraps - Once Upon a Time...(WINNER)

WINNER! WINNER!

What a great surprise to win the challenge at Archiscraps for January!
Thanks for all the votes!

Hello again friends!

I have another layout to share with you, this time its my entry to the January challenge at ARchi-scraps! The January challenge is all about fairy tales... Using the image below to get your inspiration...

I used a piece of pp from an old Kaisercraft collection called 'Story Book', it's a page with an image of an old typewriter on it, and it has the words 'Once Upon a Time' already typed out so I thought it would be just perfect for my little fairy tale story! I also added some fun and magical chipboard stickers from the 'Dream Big' - the 'Simple Stories' collection!

I firstly prepped the background by adding water colour paints in four colours, pink, yellow, blue and green, I used the same colours in the alpha letters (gold for the yellow!)

My story goes like this...

Long, Long Ago!
(Well actually, just last week...)

In a Kingdom far far away!
(Jenna's house in South Morang, Melbourne...)

Lived a beautiful Princess
(My Gran Daughter - 'Skyla')

and her Magical Unicorn
(her bedroom doorstop)

LOL
**********************

Here are some close ups!

Thankyou Archi-scraps, I really enjoyed putting this page together!

and

Thankyou Dale Tiernan for reminding me to get back into the Archi-scraps
challenges (even though I didnt have time to add a page last month!)

Cheers
Shazza xx

Soul Scrappers - Guest Designer January!

Hello Friends!

I have a new layout to share with you for 'Soul Scrappers'. This month we have a Guest Designer 'Erika Martin' and her challenge is to use a pic of your eye/s and add a quote. Erika was the original founder of soul scrappers so it seemed appropriate to ask her to be our first designer for our ten year celebrations!

Criteria - Use a close up photo of your eye/eyes
and add a quote about your eyes on your page.
**Scrapbook pages only accepted for this challenge**

Here is her example...

********************************

Here is my entry...

'My EYES'

I used water colour paints on my background and
fussy cut out some flowers to add around my photo.

Here are some close ups...

I used the quote - 'My eyes are and ocean in which my
dreams are reflected'
- Anna M. Uhlich

Thanks for an interesting challenge Erika!
I really enjoyed putting this page together!

Soul Scrappers - (Pick3) - HOLLY OLLY Christmas

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the first PICK 3 challenge of the new year
for Soul Scrappers!
hosted by Mitzi

You can find the challenge HERE

Help us celebrate SS's 10th birthday. Create a page or card or OTP that shows a celebration of some kind, such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding, retirement, etc. Then add at least 3 of the following:
1. cake
2. balloons
3. gifts
4. banner
5. candles
6. party hats
7. ribbon

I'm still celebrating christmas, so here is my page called
'HOLLY OLLY CHRISTMAS'

Please note - I havnt lost the 'J' from jolly....
the Kelpie we are minding is called 'Olly' so I used a play on words for my title.

My page is suppose to look like a christmas decorated mantle and fireplace!

From Mitzi's list I used...
Banner - strung across the mantle piece
Candles - one on the mantle and one in a jat hanging from the banner
Ribbon - striped bow

Olly's photo (wearing a christmas hat), is inside the fireplace and he has
framed photos of his friends on top of the mantle piece!

Some close ups...

I really enjoyed putting this page together!
Something a little bit different!

Thanks for all the inspiration!
