Here is my entry to Karen Findlays, Soul Scrap Quest # 6 called 'Winter Wonderland' at Soul Scrappers. you can get to Soul Scrappers from here.
The idea of the Quest is that you sign up to receive FREE stuff to use....you follow a theme and make your page and add it to the gallery. The fun is that you don't really know what you are going to receive. Some of the pages the ladies add to the gallery are awesome.
You should join up and have a go!!
Here is my entry for Karens winter wonderland Quest. Really enjoyed this project and loved all the bits and pieces, I think this is one of my first ’Snow’ projects!
Here's how I put it together and used the bits and pieces.....
CHILL OUT
Everyone is outside rugged up from the cold…..the snowman’s hat has blown way..........
We don’t get Snow in Melbourne unless we travel to the mountain snow field areas…so I have used the Boy and Dog stamp from the pure Innocence clear stamp from MFT (My Favourite things - http://www.mftstamps.com/) The pastel colors matched so well I used them on my layout.
I made the snow patterned hills by white washing a newsprint page (October Afternoon –Tea Towel) in ‘Jo Sonya’s- Titanium white paint, I added ‘Ice Stickles’ – ‘Crystaline Ice’ to the edges of the snow hills.
I made a flag on a pole!
I paper pierced and stitched the snow swirls blowing the snowmans hat away!
I added extra ‘snowflakes’ by papermania.and I also machine stitched around my page in black thread.
1. a piece of pattern paper - used for 3 x scarves and around the hat
2. a snowman kit – used everything but enlarged the hat shape to make a top hat
3. glitter – covered small chipboard piece
4. a small chipboard – hanging with the word ‘OUT”
5. a circular windowsheet with snowflakes on it – used to cover the white snowman’s body
6. blue thread – found more blue thread DMC 598 – used to stitch the word ‘Chill” and around the cut out shape and also the tassles on the snowmans scarf.
7. large white snowflake – In R/H corner
8. kraft, top note cut out – used for title
9. small tag or metal swirl - unused
10. 4 small rhinestones – I actually got x 6 and used them in the centres of the snowflakes
11. for a Bonus point - saying-" happiness is a journey not a destination" – used for a flag next to the snowman.
