Birthday cards and Flowers from Friends

Here are some lovely hand made cards I received from friends for my Birthday this month :)

The top middle card is from Amanda (I met Amanda online at Ready Set Scrap). Such a beautiful card with lace and flowers just love the colors :) Thanks so much!

The Balloon hearts card is from Elise from my work (Bunnings). Love Elise's cards because she always comes up with something different. Elise also gave me a lovely gift of a lilac colored scrapbook album and made me a small chocolate cheese cake. Thanks so much Elise!!

The brown card is from Ellen and Elke from work (The Garden Ladies!). Ellen made this card and I am so impressed, she is in my Stampin' UP! stamp club that meets once a month. She did such a great job for a newbie at card making :) Ellen and Elke also gave me some flowers, see pic below.

The "celebrate card" is from Lexie (whom I also met on the Ready, Set, Scrap site). I love the light blue and pink flowers, another beautiful card. I was lucky enough to meet Lexie at a get together earlier this year, she's such a sweetie!

The blue card is from Wendy G, whom I met through the site "Uproar 2 Scrapmore", this was a lovely surprise, thanks for thinking of me Wendy!

and thanks everyone for looking!

Happy Birthday 2 You - June Cybercrop Birthday ATC

This is the my birthday ATC for the cybercrop Birthday theme at Uproar 2 Scrapmore.

Birthdays are all about numbers, so your challenge for this cybercrop is to make an ATC with a birthday theme with 1 focal image, 2 layers and 3 embellishments. There must me a number on it somewhere, the rest is up to you.

If you count the #2 , words "you" and cake as the three Embellishments.

If you could talk to the Animals

This is my take on the July Negative Space challenge at Ready, Set, Scrap by Tracey.

this is a layout of my 2 sons, Adam and Jarred at Dubbo Zoo in the 90's.

This challenge gave me an opportunity to use a technique I have wanted to try for ages, called "embedding". I used double thickness cardboard and cut out the shaped turtle, removed the first layer of corrugated cardboard and embedded the pic of the turle. You could do this with any embellishment which gives a 3D look to your page.
You have to be careful that you dont cut through to the second layer and try and keep the edges neat :)

I have covered all criteria:
1. Must use 2 pics, smaller than 4x6Must
2. NO cardstock or patterned paper as my base.
3. Used an alternative - double sided cardboard.
4. 1 chipboard element = Painted blue bird in RH corner.

I also painted the thickers title with Jo Sonya paints

******************************************************

Here's the criteria:

July Negative Space Challenge - set by Tracey Hunter

For this month's Negative Space challenge Tracey is going to make it tricky too!....LOL

  • Must use 2 pics, smaller than 4x6
  • Must NOT use cardstock or patterned paper as your base. Try to use an alternative such as cardboard, chipboard, transparency, canvas etc....
  • Must include at least 1 chipboard (or grungeboard) element somewhere on your creation
Here's Tracey's example:

Here's a few close ups of my layout:

P.I.C - Partners in Crime

This months challenge at "Out of the hat scrap challenge" is an awesome one, I just love the criteria. Would love if you had a go at this challenge, there are four prizes up for grabs each month.... so don't miss out!!

Here is my take on the July challenge, called "P.I.C. - Partners in Crime".

I used the monochromatic color of "Orange", I think orange must be the "in" winter color at the moment!! Felt flowers for the felt item. Buttons and a painted tape measure in the shape of a flower for my haberdashery items.

This is the criteria for July:
1. Use haberdashery on your page (eg: material, pins, buttons, etc) - Susan Cashin

2. Monochromatic type layout - Maria Delo

3. Use felt on your layout - Joanne Caird

Looking forward to seeing everyones marvellous creations :)

Cheers

I'm not a morning Kitty

This is my take on the June Ebony and Ivory challenge by Tracey at Ready, Set, Scrap.

June Ebony & Ivory Challenge - set by Tracey Hunter

For this month's E&I challenge Tracey would like you to create an item using the following dominant colours

Ivory (white)

BLACK AND ORANGE

include
1 photo only
buttons and flowers

Here's Tracey's example:

*****************************************

And here is my entry:

My Cat Kimba is very much like me... he is definately not a morning Person/Kitty. It takes him a while to get going and is 'out of sorts' if I don't follow his morning routine. I suppose that's what you get for owning a "Snow Bengal"......

I followed all criteria for this challenge:
Ivory/White with black and orange. Aminal related, one photo and buttons and flowers. I used some kitten faced buttons, I brought a few years ago :)
