This is the card I made for the March RAK mini challenge at Uproar to Scrapmore.

RAK mini kit challenge rules

* You must make a card (any size) from your kit
* You must use a bit of everything from your kit
* You may use either side (or both) of the patterned papers
* You can add anything else to the kit that you wish
* Your entry must be loaded into the gallery by midnight on the 25th of March
* Winner must run the next month's challenge and be responsible for signing up players/sending out kits etc....

This is my layout for the March Photoswap at Ready, Set, Scrap with Amanda.

"Mum's Super Hero"

I hand cut all the pieces for the super hero suit from coloured cardstock, and outlined the suit with black pen. I added Connor's head and made it like a "Poppet". The high rise buildings are cut from black and white card stock to give the layout dimension and to make it look as if Connor is flying!

This is my scraplift of a layout that Tracey Hunter from Ready, Set, Scrap did back in December 2008.

Scraplifts are an awesome way of jump starting your mojo or trying out a technique or style you may not have attempted before.

A scraplift can be an entire lift of the LO or you may just be inspired to use the colour combo, sketch, style, same PP's, title or whatever grabs your fancy!......LOL

I added a title and a different book quote which says "You cannot open a book without learning something - Confucius"

This is my layout for Erika Martins Journaling 101 course, week #8, Using Lyrics as your Journaling.

When my husband and I seperated in 2000, it was a very lonely time.. I was living with my teenage son who was hardly ever home, I was sad, depressed and.........
Close friends never called, I hated that time in my life.
Then I met Hasan, things changed. My feelings and thoughts took on a much happier tone.
Hasan made me believe in myself.
These song lyrics explain exactly how I felt at the lowest point in my life and also the highest.

This is my example for the March OTP Challenge set by Lexie at Ready, Set, Scrap.

March OTP Challenge - set by Lexie King

For this month's OTP challenge I would like you to
take one house hold object, it can be anything, chair, toaster, saucepan, lamp etc
and transform it into a work of art

You must use

paint

minimum of 13 flowers

and beads

you may add anything else you want to create you work of art

I used my indoor metal watering can and gave it a face lift :)
I painted the raised leaves with Jo Sonya's Green Light and added 13 pink flowers ( six on each side and the largest attached to the end of the spout). The larger flowers have seed beads glued to their centres. The smaller flowers have rhinestones as centres. I added two butterfly's on each side.

This was a great challenge! Thanks Lexie.

I used the heart to enhance the photo of my neice "Shanice". The little name tag has been left empty at the bottom, as I need to put a date in there.

The back of the heart is covered in "Heidi Grace PP called "let it snow mini dots". I used asstd buttons from my stash and all the rest are Stampin up products - cardstock is Blue Bayou and Soft Sky, ink is Blue Bayou and Grossgrain ribbon is Soft Sky.

This is my take on the Themed Challenge set by Shell.

I may not be perfect, but parts of me are excellent!

I handcut the flowers from Kelly Panacci's PP called "Stitched Floral". To add a bit of dimension I used Chinese Lantern leaves and I also centered the flowers with bling. Finally, I journaled my title with stamps.

This is my scraplift, of one of Nats layouts. I delved through the "Nat Archives" and found this layout from February 2008.

I used the title but changed the "J" concept, and did a collage of my daughter "Jenna" inside the letter "J"

I did a double page layout for Erika's Journaling Course Week # 7 - Powerful Bullet Journaling.

This is what the journaling says:

* One of the most beautiful places we visited whilst in Pattaya, Thailand in 2005 was Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens.

* Mrs Nong Nooch decided to turn the fruit orchard into a Tropical Garden.

* Mrs Nong Nooch was inspired by the beauty of world renown gardens, where she visited during her trips abroad.

* About 45 kinds of bougainvillea are grown here, many are clipped into a shaped hedge

* It was beautiful just walking around amongst the gardens.

* The land was brought to originally grow fruit trees.

* The gardens have an extensive collection of Bromelaids, palm garden, cacti garden, bonsia garden fern collection etc.....

* Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens has a private plant collection that is possibly thee largest in Asia.

* The gardens emphasize serenity and tranquility through the use of shady spaces, majestic palm trees and various sized round rocks and shrubs.

* It really was the highlight of our trip.

This is my take on Erika Martins Journaling 101 course - Week #6 - Telling a story without pictures.

This is what the journaling says:

I needed to stop at the shops after school to pick up a few grocery items. I had Adam 10, Jarred 7 and Jenna 5 with me. We went to Franklin’s supermarket close by. As soon as we got there the kids started asking to buy a snack to eat, but it was of course close to their dinner time and would spoil their tea. They just had to wait, we wouldn’t be very long, I assured them.

I proceeded to gather up some shopping supplies, the kids wandered along the aisles with me. It was not long before we noticed Jarred was missing. Next minute we hear a commotion at the back of the store, thinking it may be Jarred we went up to see what was happening. As we approached the freezer aisle, this is the scene we were confronted with: the freezer door was wide open and a little fat bum was sticking out, followed by lots of grunting and moaning noises!

It was Jarred his head stuck in the freezer, squirming but obviously stuck somehow. When I got closer I noticed his tongue and lips and face were stuck up against the freezer shelves. Apparently he had gone looking for something to eat and noticed Ninja Turtle Ice cream had leaked out of the packaging and dripped on to the freezer shelves. So he had stuck his head in, poked out his tongue to have a taste and soon found himself with his tongue firmly stuck onto the bar of the freezer shelf.

People had started to gather around him because by now his grunting and muffled attempts to call for help had attracted a lot of attention! When I saw him, I just cracked up laughing, it was such a funny sight and for a moment I didn’t know what to do.

Adam stepped in first, telling Jarred to close his eyes and not get his eyeballs stuck or they might pull out of the sockets…. little boys they say the funniest things!

After what seemed ages, but was only a few minutes, his panting breath from the muffled calling out had slowly melted the ice sticking him to the bar. His was finally free. Everyone cheered. Jarred cried! Someone had suggested calling the fire brigade or the paramedics but he was fine, although a bit embarrassed. He had the freezer bar marks stamped across his lips, mouth and tongue.

This was an experience he would never forget. One good thing came out of this though - he never asked for something to eat when we went shopping, he barely left my side at all after that!

So that’s the saga of the Ninja Turtle ice cream. He is in his 20’s now and he still makes comments about that incident.

This is Kahlii my niece when she was younger.

I used the papers from "Enchanted series" by Kaszazz. Bella flowers and asstd blue buttons. Scrap of lace. Thickers letters for "little" word and creative memories stick on letters for the word "A" and "Smile"

This is a layout of my neice "Tash" after she recently had her hair krimped.

I have used wild wasabi textured card stock from stampin up. The bubble PP is Circle border from Paper Pizazz. Olive gross grain ribbon and asst buttons. The chipboard butterfly is covered in pink cardstock and bling.

This is a layout using a pic of my niece Megan when she was little.

The cut out cherry blossom flowers and bird perched on the swing were from a writing pad I had, but never used. The colors complimented this photo perfectly. Apart from black and subtle green glitter card stock, I used a few odd pieces of PP and Bling.

I really love how this one turned out. I have never used green and pink on black before, so thanks for the inspiration for this layout, Nat!
