Hoppy Birthday

This is my take on the June Cyber Crop challenge at Top50. the Theme of the Cyber Crop is "Tiaras & Crowns". This is challenge number 2.

Here is the criteria posted by Vicky (Scappygurl):

Now the Drama Queen or Tantrum King in your life must have a birthday each year, so for Challenge 2 make them a card that matches in colours to the previous challenge...the only stimpulation is that this card must be a paper creation not a digital! Apart from that you have free rein on the creation.

You also have the option to use the second crown...remember those free gifts from Tracy, well this is the second creation you can use them. Remember, you must use two at least during the crop, and that is on Challenge 1 and 2!

I handcut the frog from green cardstock (from google images), added the purple banner and green plants. Outlined in a journaling pen and used mini alphabet stamps and black ink.

Drama Queen of the Castle

This is my take on the June Cyber Crop challenge at Top50. the Theme of the Cyber Crop is "Tiaras & Crowns". This is challenge number 1.

Here is the criteria posted by Vicky (Scappygurl):

OK ladies we all have that drama king or queen in our lives and well this layout is all about them, paper or digital is up to you. How you wish to decorate is entirely up to you...but I do want to put two stimpulations on the challenge...

* You use colours you would not necessary use...purple, lime, and red...you do not have to use all colours, just one, or two, or even the three if you so desire...

* And this is the challenge where you are required to use the FREE GIFT of the Crowns. You must use one crown, two if you want, there will be another chance with a later challenge to use another one!




Queen Jenna waits patiently for her prince to save her. She has dropped her long platt of hair down the side of the castle so her princess can climb up alas she does not realise her prince is a frog


I have covered all criteria for this challenge: I used mainly Lime and purple cardstock, all cardstock hand cut and I used the princess crown for Queen Jenna. I used texture paste on the clouds and painted with a mixture of Jo Sonya pacific blue and tit white. Hand platted the yellow wool hair. I hope you like!

Lets all donate to Charity :)

Tracy from my2angels has a great idea on her website to help the charity bravehearts. The details are below:

In the promotions section on my website I have 4 different shaped kits you can purchased and for each one sold $4.00 will be going to Bravehearts the charity to help children who have been victims of sex abuse. You can find out more details of the charity here: bravehearts

Each kits consists of 5 pieces to make up your kit.

They have been cut into size and only need 1 sheet of paper to cover them. I used doubled sided pattern paper and used the alternate pattern to cover the sides.
Here is an example of the dress.

They aren't perfect, as I cut them myself by the jigsaw, but are not too bad, just may need a bit of sanding. I have started to paint the edges for you in white then though you may like another colour so there is only one coat on them. There is bits of paint on the raw timber side but this will be covered by your paper.

Also you also purchase other items at time of purchasing this kit 10% of your order will also be donated to Bravehearts
If possible please try not to pay by paypal as I am charged fees and would prefer any extra money to go the charity not to Paypal.

This is my take on the June monthly challenge combo at Scapbooking Top50.

One little duck...... - Chris W's weekly challenge

This is my take on Chris W's weekly challenge at Uproar to Scrapmore.

This is what Chris said.........Ok i said they all wouldn't be easy plus i have yellow on the brain today as i've been sewing my new yellow ribbon flowers .
The challenge is to use the nursery rhyme,this little duck went out one day,over the hill and far away..mother duck said quack quack quack..well you get the picture,use this rhyme as your inspiration.
I am going to choose a winner of my choice at the end and will send them a packet of my new yellow ribbon flowers! just because ! can't wait to see what you come up with!

This is my entry for the card challenge, I have covered all criteria:
1) rubons = "Home is where the heart is" saying by Provocraft Memory rub-ons.
2) journaling pen = used for shadowing, flower centres and veins, door knob, snail face.
3) Cardstock = all bits are hand cut from various colors of cardstock
4) Ribbons = bow above doorway

I was inspired by a "welcome" mushroom card I saw on a blog a few weeks ago (can't find the blog but the creative lady was Donna, so thanks Donna for your inspiration)

I googled a mushroom image, enlarged it and cut out the shaped pieces. Plants, flowers, heart and snail were all drawn freehand and then hand cut.
I used glossy accents to stick the door ajar.

I have covered all the criteria in this challenge:
1)Monogram as the title
2)Black and white photo
3)Stitching on my page (I attempted 3 different types of stitching...straight around the cardstock, zigzag arond the photo and fancy around the pp.

As journaling was optional, I left it out as I thought this layout does not warrant it. I wanted to keep it simple. For something different I only used scalloping around some of the card stock. The scalloped edge and pp is from a making memories 12x12 diecut scalloped square.

I love this photo of Jenna, it has always reminded me of the painting "the girl with the pearl earing" by Vermeer as she has that same intrigued look in her eyes.
