Mum

This is my take on Kylie's reciepe challenge at the May Cyber Crop at Uproar to Scrapmore. The May Cyber Crop theme is "Celebrating Mothers".

Kylie's challenge for this Cybercrop will be a Receipe Challenge.

Here are the ingredients you will need:

1 x cs or pp for Base
1 x double sided pp
1 x scalloped border(30cm)
1 x 11 inch scalloped circle
Lots of embellishment to suit your LO
Journal Tag
Alpha
1 x 5x7 photo of your mum

Recipe Instructions
1 Grab your 12x12 cs or pp .This will be your base.
2.Using your double sided pp, cut 2 lengths of 3x30cm strips. Place these at the top and bottom of your base , flush with the edges.
3.Turn over double sided pp. Now cut 2 lengths of 5x30cm strips. But on each strip, one side has to be torn. You can ink these if you wish. Place these strips overlapping the pp on the top and bottom slightly and the torn edges facing towards the centre.
4.Cut your scalloped circle in half. Place slightly on an angle, on the left hand side of your LO.
5.Place your photo in the centre of your LO on the same angle as your scalloped half circle.
6.Cut your scalloped border edge to 3 pieces measuring 16.5cm, 9.5cm and 4cm. Place the longer edge along the left edge of your photo. The second longest at the bottom of your photo. The last piece goes up the top of your LO overlapping pp but flush with right edge.
7.Place your journal tag in the right hand corner of your photo.
8.Place a cluster of embellishments that you have picked for your LO, in the bottom left corner of your photo.
9.Place your title to the bottom right of your photo. I have used a journal tag which has writing already on it for my title. You may like to do the same.
10.Place a couple more embellishments at the top of your title.
11.Finally, doodle around borders and embellishments.

You have now completed your LO.

Arabesque ATC

This is the little ATC that I did for the ladies for May, inspired by Corrine (The hostess with the mostest) at Uproar 2 Scrapmore.

OK girls the theme for this swap is ARABESQUE. There should be lots of inspiration around for you at the moment as two of the biggest scrapping brands (Basic Grey and Kaiser) have BOTH released a paper range called 'Marrakech'. Very rich tones of blue, red, yellow, brown and orange featureso I reckon we should be able to come up with some very flash looking ATC's!

This is a perfect opportunity to do a different shape if you're getting bored of rectangle ATC's too!

At first I thought.... what the!.......
.... then, after a think about this for a week, I came up with this creation.
I hope all the ladies participating like it!

Childhood Toys

This is a layout I completed for Chris W's weekly challenge (ending 24th May) at Uproar 2 Scrapmore.

The journaling says: My favourite childhood toys were Sister Belle the talking rag doll, Gerry Gee the ventriloquist doll, and my black and white Panda. I used to take them everywhere. I loved playing with each of them.

Be WISE like an OWL

This is my take on the May Scraplift at Ready, Set, Scrap. "Be WISE like an OWL" inspired by Amanda.

This is my take on Amandas page (be wise like an owl), Kirsti's quote challenge # 26

You can view amandas layout at the link below:
http://www.readysetscrap.com.au/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/3531/ppuser/43

I loved the quote and it suited this pic of my son Jarred (thinking off into the distance...)

The journaling reads:
A wise old owl sat in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

and here is my take called "Hush"
Our little Keira again, only a few days old :)

It's a little bit different, as I did not have a large artesian shape and had to use a small one and work the sketch around it!

The journaling says"

Hush, my little falling star
How do you like the world so far?
Shush, my snowflake, my drop of rain
Are you happy you're here?
We're sure happy you came!

Jenna's Garden

This is my take on the May "OTP" challenge by Tracey at Ready, Set, Scrap.

May OTP Challenge - set by Tracey Hunter

For this month's OTP challenge Tracey would like you to...

create an OTP from scratch
That means don't go and buy something off the shelf.
Use your creativity and come up with an idea for a mini album, card, OTP or altered item

for my example below I have cut some cork board into a tree shape and made a little Apple Tree OTP

Here's Tracey's example:
***************************************

This is my entry:

This is my creation for an OTP item called Jenna's Garden. It is completely made from Cardstock with floral wire inside the stems of the sun flowers to give them strength. The fence pailings are edged with chocolate chip ink to give them dimension.

I got the Idea from the white picket fence I used in the May CC challenge "Wizard of OZ" by Janine and also from some 3D Jenni B stickers used for Scrapbooking and card making (Pic on my blog: shazzacraft.blogspot.com)

Loved thinking out of the square for this one Tracey.
