My Little Horse

Here is the current poem at 'Scrap that Poetry', I couldn't resist doing this challenge, the words in the poem were so inspiring. Here is the poem.........

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here,
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer,
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Here is my take called 'My Little Horse'

I wanted the layout to look dark and grungy so I wrote the poem on to grey card stock and shaped into clouds, I used black silhouetted trees to try and create the woods looking dark and deep. I added 'snow tex' (loving that stuff!!), to the branches to make it look like they are snow covered. A little silhouette of a stag just added the right touch.

Here is a close up, you can see the 'snow tex' better, it was a bit fiddly applying it with a tiny spatula.
